Craving for something sweet? Whip Up is just the place for you.
In most cases, the pictures of the food is what draws people into a café, but in this instance it was the food and décor that sparked our interest, this spot was blatantly charming with its pastel colours and it screams authenticity at its finest.
The place is run by Chef pâtissier, Tee who’s passion is unwavering. When asked what was his mission, it was to make the world a sweeter place. Which we found very admirable.
From their dessert menu, the highlight was the GO LIMANGO. Cost – RM 15
The desert was a celebration of flavours and textures, with the cheesy cake laced with lime, the bed of crumble on which the cake sits, the crunchy coconut tuile, the tangy raspberry coulis and the fresh cubed mangos. Just the freshest and quality ingredients harmoniously combined to please the eye and the palate.
The next dessert we tried was the aptly named The Battle for Peace-tachio. Cost – RM 18
This dessert just exudes luxury and with the quality ingredients used and the richness of it’s taste. First the glossy exterior glacé of the dessert, the nutty tuile gives the extra crunch and a contrast of texture, the chocolate sponge was just right, the mousse was proportionately dense and not greasy, the tangy raspberry coulis just cuts the creaminess just right and the pistachio center was really otherworldly.
The next dessert that came recommended was the “Do You Want To Build A Tiramisu“ Cost – RM 19
This was quite a fun experience, as the name suggests, you can build your own tiramisu and experiment with a selection of ingredients such as mascarpone, ladyfingers, wine and a choice of toppings which include caramelised almonds or shaved chocolate curls.
Whip up also provides a selection of drinks from their menu our personal favorite was their Green Tea Latte. Cost – RM 12
Whip Up hosts a variety of unique desserts and drinks but that’s not the only thing that they boast. They also have the Malaysian favorite: Nasi Lemak, Madam Ng’s Special Nasi Lemak + Coffee or Tea. Cost – RM 25
Besides that Whip Up also makes fun novelty cakes which are both delicious and quite beautiful.
Whip Up is constantly coming up with new dessert ideas and flavor combinations so it wont be too surprising if they take it up a notch with their desserts as the people behind Whip Up are quite talented and driven.
