Craving for some good Nasi Lemak? How about some spiced fried chicken? Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur lies a hidden gem where one can get authentic Malay cuisine without the need to travel back to your hometown. Warisan Nasi Kukus has the making of being your one stop shop to satisfy your palate.
The staff were very attentive and the food arrived at a timely manner which made our experience that much better.
The overall ambience was nice and warm with their wooden accents and décor. It gets quite busy during the lunch hour and it’s usually packed seeing its located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. We would advise making a reservation for lunch and to be quite honest it’s well worth it.
They also have a wide selection of 7 flavored rice to do with your dishes or if you are feeling adventurous you can try their all 7 variety of their Nasi Kukus.
The Fluffiness of the rice served and the crunchy spiced chicken which was tender on the inside was just divine! (That’s not an understatement!) It was not too oily and the portion of the chicken was quite big! The fish crackers were a welcome addition to the entire dish.
One of the other highlight was the the Ayam Masak Merah! One of the best in Kuala Lumpur. The glistening sambal and the bright blue rice were not only pleasing to the eyes but the aroma that emanated and the taste was just something else! An experience for all the senses.
We were feeling indulgent so we also tried their egg sambal. It was fairly good but we would have loved it more if it was a little spicier (it was missing that kick).
Warisan also has a selection of unique homemade drinks which they prepare such as barley, jasmine tea and other drinks.
The supply for both establishments come from the same place as explained by the manager. This ensures excellent quality control and connotes that you would get the same great food if you’re in Avenue K or Nu Sentral.
They so far have only two establishments in Kuala Lumpur.
LG, Nu Sentral, Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
SAC-C-1, Concourse Level, Avenue K.
